Student Stories Ohio State’s core is its students. They come from all backgrounds and are united by their thirst for knowledge, drive toward self-improvement, and desire to leave the world a little better than they found it. These students are Buckeyes, and Ohio State has always strived to stand with them. In an effort to ensure continued access to education for its students, a fundraising drive called Students First, Students Now was implemented on January 1, 2009. It concluded on June 30, 2011, surpassing its initial goal of $100 million. Thousands of students received much-needed funds, allowing them to stay enrolled during economic hardship. Collected here are stories of students whose lives would be completely different were it not for the scholarships and other forms of financial assistance they've received. These Buckeyes are grateful for the generosity demonstrated by donors, particularly those who give when times are the toughest.
